We went quiet last Wednesday out of respect for Black Lives Matter. Before we get back on schedule next week, I’ve put together a couple timely, stripped down episodes for today and Sunday in honor of George Floyd and BLM. A collage offering of sturdy angles, devoid of my usual monologues and cutaways.

SN2:EP2 “Walking to an Audition”
For better or worse, this episode is likely one of the first podcasts ever to provide an audio chronicle of the day before a colonoscopy. Today my walking companion is Katina Corrao. Much has been written about her positivity, but what is sometimes left out is just how much loss she has experienced in her life. We bond over the grim and I marvel at the horsepower of her attitude. I hate the word “attitude,” but she helps me accept it again. This episode was recorded on January 27, 2016 and February 22, 2016 and is one of the longer ones I’ve done with a guest. And for good reason. Hang on until the end, or just treat it like two back to back episodes, maybe. Check out Katina’s album Hot Date that debuted at #1 on iTunes or stream the live performance here. I enjoyed having her part my clouds for a while. Music this week by Aaron Campbell, A guy drumming at the West 4th Stop, and Direwires.Post Views: 3,329 -
SN5:EP7 “A Brother Runs Through It”
The inimitable Eeland Stribling @blacksteveirwin–one of the most relaxed, but killer comics I’ve seen in a while. He’s also a Wildlife Biologist and a major part of the @brownfolksfishing initiative.AND co-host of the popular “Get Home Safe” podcast. We start with some basic bachelor grocery shopping and trade our takes on: trout fishing and race; religion; carbonated Hawaiian Punch; Ireland (or what he calls “White People’s Africa”); and witness a rare kid-accidentally-breaking-some-eggs-on-the-way-home-from-the store ritual. This is a longer episode for you to live in and truly one of the best recorded evenings in the history of @wanderingaisles. Consider supporting the show on Patreon! SN5:EP10 “The Edge of Denver”
What begins as a failed trip to REI for a hat, becomes Steve Vanderploeg @slumdogchillionaire giving @bambifransworth a surprise visit to the now-defunct “Dog the Bounty Hunter” retail store. We walk Sloan’s Lake and find the solace of our earliest curse words among the wary pandemic ducks.Consider supporting the show on Patreon! (or just tell a friend).Post Views: 2,613
